Autohydro®
Adopted by Ships Classification Malaysia
Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada
is pleased to supply the hydrostatics and stability
program, Autohydro, to Ships Classification of
Malaysia (SCM). The current Release 6.1 was recently
installed and will begin to be used to check the stability
of ships under SCM's registry. ASC foresees that the
shipbuilding industry in Malaysia will also adopt Autohydro
in order to streamline the approval process.
SCM is the national premier classification society
providing vessel classifications for maritime industry.
70% of SCM personnel are technical and professional
consisting of Naval Architects, Marine Engineers, Electrical
Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Master Foreign Going.
SCM's core business is Classification of ships, be it
classification of existing ships in service or classification
of new ships under construction in shipyards.
Beginning with 55 ships being classed in 1997, SCM
now has a total of 441 ships under its Class Register
to date, (as of December 1st, 2005) with a combined
gross tonnage of approximately 300,000.
SCM plans on using Autohydro for the approval
of Ships Stability Books that are under its registry.
Autohydro will allow SCM to quickly develop the
ship model and perform various intact and damage calculations,
such as stability, longitudinal strength and survivability.
Autohydro was recently updated to Version 6.1
introducing new features such as DXF Import of components
for the Geometry File (GF). The user can treat the component
as if it were created in Modelmaker and manipulate its
offsets values to fair the shape, add tanks and superstructure,
and then save as a GF.

of CAD/CAM marine design programs. Autohydro
currently has over 1,200 installed user base making
