Chowgule Shipbuilding Ltd. Buys Autoship Systems CAD/CAM Software
Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Canada is pleased to announce that Chowgule & Company Ltd. [Shipbuilding Division](or "Chowgule") of Goa, India has purchased the naval architecture suite of programs, Autoship, Autopower, Autohydro and Autoplate. Chowgule is presently constructing a series of inland water cargo carriers 1700 DWT to 3600 DWT.

Chowgule's Deputy General Manager, Mr. P. Chakrabarty stated:

"The shipbuilding division has normally engaged a naval architect consultant for all our major design work, but with the implementation of the Autoship System we will be able to see higher productivity with on-time engineering. As an AutoCAD shop, we needed marine specific tools to compliment our current engineering processes. We also needed very user-friendly software with short learning-curve and we have thus chosen Autoship. Chowgule is mainly concentrating on Bulk Cargo carriers, Container carriers, Tankers, Landing crafts, Accommodation barges, Flat top barges etc. at present. But, we are also contemplating to go in for Offshore support vessels, shortly."
