Autoship Systems Releases Autoship
8
Autoship Systems Corporation of Vancouver, Canada, a leading
marine CAD/CAM software developer, is pleased to announce
that they are now shipping Release 8 of the popular Autoship
hull design program.
New Features for Autoship 8, include: editable
trimmed surfaces, the new Blend surface type, allowing
easy creation of chamfers and smooth radius fillets
between two surfaces, real-time hydrostatics, and simultaneous
multiple vertex control. Autoship Pro 8 users
will receive the Model Library of marine equipment that
will allow the designer to rapidly finish a detailed
model of the fully outfitted vessel.
The software release includes supporting documentation,
including a new On-Line Help System, new User's manual,
and new User's Guide. This release will put the Autoship
program several years ahead of its closest competitors
in terms of functionality and ease-of-use features.
The Autoship program was the first PC program
to introduce a GUI and now leads in the industry with
over 1,200 installed user base.
Boston Whaler's, Chief Engineer, Dan Milke, describes
the use of Autoship: "The incorporation
of Autoship into our design process has reduced
time and costs considerable. Autoship surfaces
are used in the design of our hulls, decks and innerliners.
All surfaces are milled on a huge five axis milling
machine. Autoship allows us to edit the surfaces
themselves rather than stringing surfaces between edited
lines. Since the surface is the original element the
Autoship surfaces mill faster than other CAD
derived surfaces due to reduced processor time."
