Oregon Iron Works buys ASC's CAD/CAM
Suite
Autoship Systems Corporation (ASC) of Vancouver, Canada
is pleased to
announce the sale of Autoship Pro, Autostructure,
and Autoplate to Oregon Iron Works in Oregon, USA.
Oregon Iron Works (OIW) are currently expanding their
ship construction
division and needed an integrated software suite to
extract the greatest
possible efficiency from these operations. OIW closely
compared ASC products
with our competitors, and chose the Autoship System.
In particular, they
were impressed with ASC's ability to integrate its fairing,
shell plating,
and bulkhead placement solutions.
Autoship hull design/surface modelling program
gives you the tools to quickly and efficiently create
any hull shape from a racing yacht to a super tanker,
including the superstructure, appendages and foils.
The Autostructure group is a comprehensive yet
easy to use set of programs for internal structure design.
Autostructure is an integral component of our
complete CAD/CAM suite, and includes an interface with
piping design software and material management software.
Autoplate performs plate expansion calculations
for both developable and non-developable plates. Autoplate
helps in the layout and forming of the shell plating.
It is based on a modern proprietary expansion algorithm.
Founded in 1944, Oregon Iron Works is headquartered
near Portland in Clackamas, Oregon, with a second manufacturing
facility located in Vancouver, Washington. Their Marine
division has experience in military and commercial watercraft.
