Autostructure Seminars Enjoy Great
Success in Norway!
Autoship Systems Corporation, Navalia, and Autoship,
Norway A/S are pleased to report that their recent Autostructure
Seminars (run in Alesund November 3rd and 4th, and in
Amsterdam on the 5th) were greatly successful.
The first Autostructure order directly resulting
from the Alesund seminar was received within one day
– and several companies expressed their intention
to evaluate Autostructure for their next projects.
Again, within a day after the Amsterdam presentations,
several yards already using Autoship, Autoplate
and Autohydro committed to evaluating Autostructure
on their next "new-builds".
The seminars concentrated on Autostructure’s
use in modeling 3-D internal structure for production
drawings and nesting, as well as on illustrating significant
new features available in the October 2003 release.
They also showed how Autostructure works with
Autoship for final fairing, Autoplate for plate
expansion, and AutoCAD as the 2D design tool. In addition,
a presentation by Mr. Njål Vikanes showed how
the Autoplant piping module works together with Autostructure.
Seminar Highlights
The seminars demonstrated Autostructure’s
huge advantage in terms of capability versus cost, and
how Autostructure provides – quite literally
– a whole new dimension to design operations formerly
based only on AutoCAD capabilities:
- Quick part creation with minimal input – there
is a general workflow, but no rigidly enforced procedures.
- Quick and easy error remedies – make a change
and Autostructure updates surrounding structure
for you.
- A comprehensive part database (founded on Microsoft
SQL Server) and powerful categorization system.
- Rapidly cut parts to the hull form (shell) and/or
each other.
- Special tools for generation, attachment, and editing
of stiffeners, openings, cutouts, and markings.
- All CAD output is directly into AutoCAD drawings,
with full control over layers, blocks, and line types
- plus option settings for stiffener marking, abutment
marks, text size, fiducial marks, cross-section contents,
etc.
- A library of materials, including material type, plate
thickness, extrusions (stiffener profiles), flat bars
and finishes (for rendering purposes). Consistency of
material for all parts is guaranteed. User-expandable,
it provides easy input of new material and profiles.
- Flexible, easy, and complete report generation
– including weights and centres, bill of materials,
weld lengths and extrusion details.
